David has worked at DSG since 2008 progressing from an Audit Senior through to Audit Director, having initially qualified at an independent firm in the Midlands. With extensive experience in audit, David plays a crucial role in overseeing audit processes and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and works primarily in the North West region. He also acts for a number of clients nationally. David has extensive experience working with all sizes of business, predominately SME family-owned businesses as well as some of the firms not-for-profit clients.
David’s responsibilities include leading audit teams, preparing and analysing financial statements, and providing strategic insights to clients. He collaborates closely with various departments to ensure that all audit engagements are conducted efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality,
As an Audit Director, David brings considerable knowledge in managing complex group audits. He leads the coordination of multi-entity audit engagements, ensuring consistency in approach, adherence to International Standards on Auditing, and timely delivery of consolidated audit opinions. David navigates the intricacies of group structures, including component materiality assessments, intercompany transactions, and the oversight of component auditors.
Outside of work David enjoys fitting in as many city breaks as he can, making the most of time with his children (who are growing up far too fast) and he is a proud, lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC.
